Dear Diary,

Laura makes me so mad. We have four classes together, but she’s pretending that I don’t exist. She’s mad that I got back together with Billy Joe. She says he’s no good for me. I don’t want to lose Laura as a friend, but she’s totally wrong about Billy Joe. He loves me. In fact, he took me out last night, dancing at a club out on the interstate. It would have been the best night ever, but when I came back, X yelled at me for “whoring at all hours.” He was screaming, I was crying, and my mother tried to defend me. Then, X started screaming at her. He told her that she doesn’t know how to be a mother and that he was going to implement new rules in the house. Ugh. New rules. There are way too many rules, already! Anyway, he took away the phone he bought me, and he grounded me for a week. I don’t care. I know how to sneak out at night through my bedroom window without anyone finding out. You can’t stop true love!
